Waiting

Waiting, waiting, waiting....It's hard not to ask "Why do I have to wait?" We are ready to adopt, but to adopt from China there will be a waiting period.  It may be as long as 5 years before we can bring Avery home.

I know Mary and Martha wanted to know why Jesus waited so long when their brother Lazarus was sick.  In John 11:3 it says "So the sisters sent word to Jesus, "Lord, the one you love is sick."  Jesus loved Lazarus, but he waited.  He told the disciples that "The sickness will not end in death.  No, it is for God's glory so that God's son will be glorified through it."

My prayer is that I can glorify God during this waiting period.  Even as we wait to hopefully get pregnant.  My desire is to grow closer to Him and be a light.  I do feel that my marriage is so much stronger now than before the miscarriages.  I'm thankful for the life experiences that have strengthened our marriage.

John Waller says it best in his song "While I'm Waiting."
I'm waiting
I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am hopeful
I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it is painful
But patiently, I will wait

I will move ahead, bold and confident
Taking every step in obedience
While I'm waiting
I will serve You
While I'm waiting
I will worship
While I'm waiting
I will not faint
I'll be running the race
Even while I wait

I'm waiting
I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am peaceful
I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it's not easy
But faithfully, I will wait
Yes, I will wait
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve you while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting on You, Lord
